🧑‍⚖️Governanve Council

Three Main Stages to be GC members

1) Nomination

  • Any Landlords that own at least one Land NFT can nominate themselves as a potential governing council member. We encourage those who wish to be nominated to participate actively within our discord channel.

2) Election

  • After the candidates have nominated themselves, other Landlords can delegate their votes to their favourite landlords.

  • Candidates may wish to use Twitter, Youtube or discord channels to promote themselves and we strongly encourage every landlord to participate in the GC voting process.

3) Go-Live

  • Once the top 12 candidates have been selected, we will enable proposals to be made by any participants. As described in the Landlord DAO governance article, you can use $ORB to make proposal and 7 out of 12 GC members must approve for the $ORB voting war to begin.

GC members Notes:

  1. The OrbCity Governance consists of a Governance Council, that is voted upon by users. The council is tasked with reviewing community proposals and deciding which proposals deserve a full community vote.

  2. The Council consists of 12 members voted upon by the community, and receive participation rewards for managing proposals, along with a small salary from the Governance Treasury (Amount can be set by Governance).

  3. To apply to be one of the Council members costs 1,000 $ORBs for which will be transfered to Governance Treasury Pool.

  4. District NFT owners will be able to vote for 1 user to become a council member, and the vote can only be changed once every season. If users are not happy with their vote, users can also pay $ORB tokens in order to change their vote early.

  5. Users will be able to view in real time the total vote rankings, and the top 12 users with the most votes every season will be given Council powers within the governance system.

  6. Since users get only one vote per district, users will be able to view detailed information about the candidates including the districts that they own, how long they have owned and the district, along with the countries they represent.
