# Migration

Orbcity originally launched under the name "Klaycity". As the name suggests, it started its history on Klaytn. We worked on the project for about a year on Klaytn network, setting several monumental records and becoming a symbol of NFT on Klaytn network. However, **the desire of ecosystem members to expand to the wider ecosystem was strong, and in October 2022, a proposal was presented to Govenrnance requesting migration from Klaytn network to other networks.** (Governance Proposal ID 1-38) The proposal received a great response from the community and was eventually passed with **52% support in the Governance vote.**

The OrbCity team considered which network could reliably run OrbCity's various systems while accommodating the community's desire to expand the ecosystem, and ultimately decided on **Polygon network**.

Starting in 2023, we rebranded the project as Orbcity and the chain as Polygon network.

Going forward, Orbcity is moving forward to more aggressively expand its ecosystem.
